Altice USA Celebrates Black History Month in Partnership with the Coalition to Back Black Businesses
Altice USA is proud to recognize Black History Month this year by honoring the impact and many contributions of Black Americans, which have shaped the country’s history and culture. Throughout February, Altice USA alongside its Optimum, News 12, and Cheddar News brands will be celebrating BHM across the company and in its communities by promoting Black representation, inspiring cultural understanding, and supporting Black-owned businesses.
Altice USA and Optimum will be providing $450,000 in grants and resources to support Black-owned businesses throughout its 21-state footprint. Later this month, Optimum, in partnership with the Coalition to Back Black Businesses, will announce the new grant recipients. Follow along at optimum.com/bhm to learn more about the contributions local entrepreneurs are making in their communities each day.
Additionally, in partnership with its Black Employee Affinity Network (B.E.A.N.) Affinity Group, Altice USA is proud to offer programming, events, and opportunities to employees, customers, and viewers to further show its commitment to honoring Black History Month, including through:
- Free Museum Entries: Throughout February and during regular Museum hours, Optimum is sponsoring free entries to the Brazos African American Museum in Bryan-College Station, Texas and the Texas African American Museum in Tyler, Texas. Residents and visitors to the area can take advantage of these sponsored entries.
- Special Programming for News Viewers: Our news brands, Cheddar News and News 12, will both have on-air programming to honor and celebrate Black History Month with special guests and daily programming shown throughout February.
- Unconscious Bias Trainings and D&I Events: Altice USA employees will have access to sessions that will help them reflect on their own internal biases and judgements based on their personal experiences and also have the opportunity to attend D&I events on a variety of topics impacting our Black communities.
